Much to my surprise that after extensive testing of the dagger I've found that it's not an upgrade. It has 50dps above the i346 weapons that I have. Shammy's like slower weapons 2.6 +/- 2 (windfury procs come more frequent due to an internal cooldown and insta melee strikes with slower weapons yield higher damage). Knowing this before I rolled I believed that from my WoTLk expereince that the increased dps on the weapon from a higher ilvl weapon usually equalled increased overall dps. The faster speed weapons although not BIS were still upgrades. However I was wrong and the BoE could have been sold or at the very least sharded to help the raid coffiers.

Perhaps after the next patch with some of the shammy class mechanics changing it will become and upgrade.

I'd like to make some form of donation to the raid bank to offset a poor roll, I'd love to say I have toons full of gold that I could donate the gold it might have sold for. That isn't the case would a shard donation suffice?

Dont sweat it. Live and learn. Did tam enchant it? You might talk about making it up to him, but the bank is fine with yur decision.
