Tankspot has a pretty good way of going about it:

I DND pull, tank taunts chick, murder adds, then OT grabs new adds. Everyone stays stacked in front of her face to avoid pounces (5-20 yard range) and to split screeches. Killing new adds drops permanent void zones of doom, so positioning is important.

here's another pull strat that might work from a tank on the D&r forum:

Quote:
We have a Hunter drop Explosive Trap in her patrol path and run back to the group. As she gets close to the trap, he puts a Misdirect on me so the adds don't pounce anyone in the raid, on top of being out of LOS of them. Right before the first sentries get to me, I blow Shield Wall, Last Stand and Enraged Regen while the 3 other tanks peel their mobs off. I tank Auriaya and one cat until the first target dies, then that tank taunts my cat off me and DPS continues in that order.

Just make sure your tanks are blowing at least one cooldown each as they engage their mob, or it'll be a really short attempt.

Lessons learned: Summoned Cat doesn't obey LoS so much, the Blast she casts is interruptable, summoned cat is stunnable. Icy hot stunnas.

Question regarding Auriaya:

We are focusing Feral Defenders when they spawn, or handling with splash damage/ AoE?

There are two lines of thought here:
1) When the defender is dead I can help kill the boss.
2) When the defender is being killed DPS on the boss drops to zero.

#1 is probably smaller than #2. The defender is an annoying asshole but I can lock him to me for roughly 40% of the time through taunts, but elsewise he'll be meleeing someone else. He doesn't seem to be hitting all that hard however. Anyone have opinions on this? The less he dies the less void zones there are, but when he's alive, he's basically a giant dick.

Cane I only bring up DPS because you are tanking great and I like everyone to have something to work toward :)

I think killing the defender removes some tricksy variables. He is running around smacking people at least 60% of the time, which could lead to deaths. Additionally when we get feared and people run away that puts them in pounce range, and though his pounce isn't as bad as the starter cats, it still can lead to deaths. And deaths lead to prolonged fights, which leads to greater possibility of more deaths which leads to wiping. I think it's just a safer play to kill the bastard. Unless there is something I'm not aware of like a hard mode or some such.

There is an achievement for killing the cat 9 (10) times, but it's just an achievement I think. (I would like to do it some time though). I think the Hard Mode is to do her and not kill the adds. (link)

that's just an achievement also. no hard mode for auriaya.

Auriaya with cats up I still think is doable. Rip flesh at 4 stacks states it does like ~11k damage every 2 seconds, but that's physical damage, and before armor. In reality, checking logs, a 6 stack was only about 5,000 every 2 seconds.

Which is to say, it's still a lot of damage. However, with rotations and synergy with most likely llew (It'd most likely go:
pull -> get/keep inspiration up
-> wait up to ...60 sec...
-> IBF
-> ...18-21 sec...
-> Unbreakable Armor
-> ...20 sec..
-> PS
-> ...8 sec...
-> IBF
-> ...18-21 sec...

At this point we are 140 seconds into the fight and rip flesh will have stacked up to to probably about 16-20 times. What will need to happen at this point is a challenging shout, then I need to wait for my Rip Flesh stack to fade then I tank Auriaya. That, or we swap every 4-6 stacks, for example, which is a much more sane strategy (I died with 6 on me, and boss was at 61% at that point).

Most likely a blend thereof, as I would die in under 6 seconds due to rip flesh alone at 18 stacks.

they may also be fearable, but that re-introduces pounce into the mix.
