sorry just catching up on reading this forum, if I understand, you want all dps on the LK in phase1. previously, I have been spending all dps time on the shamblers when they are up. the last time, it was due to necessity for the enrage since we had no hunter (anesthetic poison). please just clarify before Monday's run. My DPS will go up dramatically if I focus on the LK and use the proper DPS poisons.

You should get the opportunity to do proper dps tonight Aganar. I am scheduled to be there tonight and should be able to watch the timers to get the enrages. You will get to spend your time on the Lich King.

clearly, the answer to our issues is demonstrated front and center in the kill shot of the NA first LK Heroic 25:

MORE VARGOTH

We will be extending our timer to work on this fight. Please refamiliarize yourself with it!

Yeah, the defile thing is fairly standard procedure:

One thing I didn't know is snares have a DR -- I've been using CoI when I can on the Valkyrs, but it seems prudent not to have ad hoc snaring like this unless we are down (in which case we'll probably be wiping anyway).

Notes:

Phase 1 seems pretty solid.
Phase 2 the spirit control is still shaky. We lose 8+ seconds of dps if the second spirit goes to the non-melee tank location. This tends to end up wiping us.
Phase 3 I'm glad we have a strat now. Most of our attempts were luck-reliant. This thread should specify what we're hoping to do. Still can refine positioning related to defile during valkyrs.

Regarding Valkyrs:

Really need to coordinate due to DRs on the stuns. Must avoid low duration controlled stuns like intercept (or holy wrath). HoJ is good if a rogue is being carried. Bash is a backup plan if something misses.

Are valkyrs killable in the air prior to pickup? Early ranged dps could really help if so.

In general:
Need to think about most effective use of raid buffs.

As a note, I only use intercept for a specific situation. That is when defile hits and the melee has to run away from the Valkyr, then when defile is done the Valkyr is moving to the edge unslowed. In other words, I only use intercept to stun it long enough for the melee to get in range again if there is no slow already applied.

It's an attempt at a solution to a non-viable scenario. The Valkyr shouldn't be unslowed due to defile in the first place. We have multiple ranged slows.

Our entire raid shouldn't suddenly be incapacitated due to a defile. Melee shouldn't be scattered to the four winds by a defile.

As an aside unrelated to intercept, it's a really bad idea to stun the valkyr in defile where we can't hit it.

Great job, guys! Was very happy to get this done, and very happy to do it with this group. Killing LK opens up a lot of doors for us, in terms of how we spend our time in coming weeks. I welcome suggestions. :)

FYI, Ned -- you can drop to bear and interrupt the cast on the debuff done to Terenas when you're inside Frostmourne. Probably your best bet to get your hots up, drop to bear, interrupt, then go back to healing.
